Unlocking Joy
Joy is a property of the soul. Therefore, unlocking joy necessarily means awakening the soul within you.
Bliss comes when the fountain of joy is released from the soul. Both joy and bliss are essential properties of the self.
Joy comes when the heart becomes capable of giving and receiving love. Mutual love towards other beings has to appear in the heart, which can then lead to further fulfilment.
There are certain things we can do to find our joy!... We have to avoid negative physical and mental states before we can really have a good chance at concentrating to feel bliss. Having too many things to do takes away time from bliss.
Physically :
Natural living - meaning sufficient sunlight and fresh air, Healthful food - grains, fruits and vegetables. Natural grains and sufficient fruits and vegetables mixed well with saliva can keep a lot of physical diseases at bay. Milk nourishes the deepest tissues of the body quickly.
Mentally :
A part of natural living is choosing the right company. Choosing people who provide love and comfort is necessary. And at the same time carefully avoiding company that produces the opposite effect. The mind, when free from moods, is naturally capable of attracting company that can provide peace and comfort. They will calm your system down.
Spiritually:
Joy and bliss are spiritual properties. The ultimate goal of meditation is not necessarily to relieve stress or tension. It is to feel bliss. Meditation can help slowly awaken the "sahasrara" (the thousand petaled lotus) or otherwise called the crown chakra. It is when this center is awakened the fountain is released!
Materially :
It is very hard to make any spiritual progress without satisfying material desires. We have freewill. The moment freewill was given to humans, conflicting agendas are born. It is the law of karma that "what you give", so will you receive.
We can also use the same law to help ourselves for a better future, which gives us a lot more time for joy. Play with the cards we have been given now, and ," Live the present so well and the future will be compelled to be bright". Knowledge and application of this law is all we need to secure a better future.
